Dog Park

S. 2nd St. and Clybourn, Under I-794 downtown

The Milwaukee Development Corporation’s early partnership was instrumental in launching Downtown Milwaukee’s first dog park at 103 W. Clybourn in the City of Milwaukee.

At a critical juncture, when the COVID-19 pandemic created uncertainty, the project could have stalled. However, MDC’s early commitment and continued efforts to make the project a reality ensured the project advanced and built support from other partners and funders. MDC’s involvement provided credibility, demonstrated strong civic leadership, and belief in Downtown’s future.

The project is expected to open in summer 2025. The dog park has also catalyzed further investment, including a new 30,000 SF commercial development in Foxtown Landing. The combined projects will seamlessly redevelop approximately 1.4 acres of former underutilized land into a new destination on the Milwaukee River frontage that also includes a new Riverwalk.

With a total project budget of $2.5 million, this 22,000 SF public space is a tangible example of MDC’s impact on placemaking and economic development in the heart of the city.
